    Product Details

The MAX96715 coax evaluation kit (EV kit) provides a reliable platform for evaluating designs that use the MAX96715, a GMSL serializer that supports high-bandwidth gigabit multimedia serial links and offers spread spectrum and full-duplex control features. The EV kit uses standard FAKRA coax or STP cables. A Windows Vista® and Windows® 7-compatible graphical user interface (GUI) allows users to easily exercise MAX96715 features.

For complete GMSL evaluation using a standard FAKRA coax cable, order the MAX96715 EV kit and a companion deserializer board (the MAX96700 EV kit is referenced in this document). For testing with an STP cable, also order the MAXCOAX2STP-HSD adapter kit and refer to its data sheet. Only one adapter kit is required per link (connecting the serializer and deserializer boards).

Throughout this document, MAX96715 and the term serializer refer to the MAX96715 IC and MAX96700 and the term deserializer refer to the MAX96700 IC. Although the material in this document focuses on coax cable links, the information applies equally to both coax and STP cable links.
