Product Details

The MAX77963 evaluation kit (EV kit) is a fully assembled and tested surface-mount printed circuit board (PCB) that evaluates the MAX77963, a 3.2A USB Type-C® buck-boost charger.

The MAX77963 EV kit includes the IC evaluation board with an integrated I2C-communication interface and USB micro-B cable. Windows® based graphical-user interface (GUI) software is available for use with the EV kit and can be downloaded from Analog Devices website at www.analog.com/max77963evkit. Windows 7 or newer Windows operating system is required to use the EV kit software.

The EV kit contains a MAX77961 charger to demonstrate the I2C master feature of the MAX77958. The MAX77961 is a buck-boost charger for 2S/3S Li+ battery application and is capable of 3.5V to 25V input voltage, with a maximum programmable fast charging current of 6A. The MAX77961 can be configured as the 2-cell or 3-cell application by the CONG pin resistor (R5), refer to the MAX77961 data sheet for more details.

The MAX16904 (a buck converter) is installed on the EV kit to provide 5V to VCONN

A Micro-B USB cable is included in the package to serve as the interface from a USB port on a Windows® PC to the slave I2C port on the MAX77958. A Windows based software provides a user-friendly interface to exercise the features of the MAX77958.
