Bio-Sensors

Biosensors bridge the divide between the living world and the digital world. Analog Devices’ biosensor solutions are powered by a range of integrated and discrete sensor and signal-conditioning technology solutions for portable, wearable, and bedside monitoring systems. Our integrated optical modules or sensor interfaces enable photoplethysmography (PPG) measurement for optical heart rate, heart rate variability, and pulse oximetry (SpO2). Our high precision and low power analog front ends enable bioelectric measurement for electrocardiogram (ECG), EMG, EEG, and similar applications. ADI’s vital sign measurement portfolio ranges from optical sensors, bioelectric analog front ends, bioimpedance engines, low power motion sensors, and high precision temperature sensors.

Life sciences and biotechnology instrumentation require accurate and high resolution temperature sensing. Analog Devices’ temperature sensor devices sense and measure temperature with precise accuracy and reliability. ADI’s temperature sensors achieve up to ±0.1°C measurement accuracy over a wide temperature range, are NIST traceable, and are plug-in ready, often requiring no additional signal conditioning or calibration. Additionally, ADI digital temperature sensors may integrate other functions such as DACs, ADCs, references, and limit alarm registers.

The interface to the optical cable requires specific physical layer transmitters and receivers to manage signal conversion between the electrical and optical domains. This conversion is normally performed in an optical transceiver module. We provide a family of products that drive optical transmitter devices such as lasers or silicon photonics along with receivers that amplify, reshape, and retime signals from a photodiode. These products are currently offered for bitrates up to 50 Gbps. We also offer control and power management products that are optimized for optical module applications to complete the chipset needed in an optical module.
