Analog Devices A²B^TM Audio Bus technology is an elegant, easy-to-use audio bus that transports audio and control data up to 50Mbps, together with power, over a single cost-effective unshielded cable. A²B supports next-generation automotive infotainment, audio, and acoustics systems, offering high-speed, low-latency performance that scales from entry level to premium vehicles.

A²B audio bus products deliver high fidelity audio while reducing the weight and cost of cabling by up to 75%, which can significantly increase vehicle fuel efficiency. Audio Routing (Unbuffered)

Analog Devices offers a wide range of solutions for unbuffered routing of audio signals, including analog audio switches, multiplexers, and crosspoint switch matrices. Our unbuffered audio analog switches and multiplexers include single- and double-throw, single- and multichannel, serial and parallel interface, and programmable switches with low on resistance, low crosstalk, and clickless operation. Our serially controlled analog crosspoint switches feature dual or triple crosspoint matrix, 2-wire or 3-wire serial interface, and programmable operation with low crosstalk and clickless performance. Click-Pop Suppressors

Analog Devices provides integrated audio click-and-pop suppressors for devices, such as codecs that have integrated headphone amplifiers but lack a clickless and/or popless startup or shutdown. Our integrated click-pop suppression device control the ramping of the DC bias voltage on the output-coupling capacitors and the application of the audio signal to ensure that no audible transients are present at the headphones. Our audio click-and-pop suppressors help eliminate clicks and pops for a variety of applications such as portable multimedia devices, headphones, and audio line outputs.

Volume Control Devices

Analog Devices’ audio digital potentiometers provide stereo volume/balance control to replace mechanical potentiometers in audio applications requiring digitally controlled resistors. Wiper position can be controlled through a serial interface, debounced rotary encoder or push-button up/down interface. Features include single or dual potentiometers with log taper and up to 64 taps, up to 45 kΩ end-to-end resistance, stereo volume control, daisy-chaining, and clickless switching. Our volume control devices consume very little power while providing digital accuracy and reliability under flexible, automatic processor control.
