New Shunt-Based Polyphase Energy Meter Solution
The use of shunts in a meter can help provide many cost and accuracy benefits, however the need for isolation requires additional components increasing the complexity of the design. Simultaneously, to achieve a smart grid infrastructure, there is an increased need for energy measurements at more points from smart meters to behind the meter applications.
The ADE9113 is a small form factor solution for measuring current and voltage with integrated isolation. It is capable of achieving Class 0.2 accuracy because of its low noise and low drift over temperature. Up to 4 ADE9113 devices can be daisy chained together and provide synchronous samples enabling a three-phase system plus neutral monitoring.
This tackle the challenges associated with grid expansion and modernization, as there is a need for more robust, accurate, and cost-effective metering solutions that can operate in a wide variety of AC and DC applications.
