10BASE-T1S MAC-PHY Solutions

MAC-PHY devices are high-performance Ethernet physical layer (PHY) devices with integrated media access controllers (MAC), ideal for supporting next-generation electrical/electronic (E/E) automotive architectures. Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI) offers 10BASE-T1S compliant MAC-PHY solutions that support both point-to-point and multidrop implementations over an unshielded twisted pair (UTP), enabling direct connectivity with a variety of host controllers via the Open Alliance SPI (OASPI) interface.

ADI’s 10BASE-T1S MAC-PHY solution is IEEE 802.3™-2022 compliant and compatible with a range of cost-effective microcontrollers. We provide software drivers, evaluation kits, and design and development tools to support integration of MAC-PHY solutions into your next-gen automotive platforms.

Value and Benefits

ADI’s 10BASE-T1S MAC-PHY solution is an ultra-low power, high performance, and fully featured product that provides last-mile connectivity to sensors and actuators in zonal automotive architectures. The use of 10BASE-T1S MAC-PHY in a multidrop topology simplifies connections and reduces harness lengths. These devices can support at least 8 nodes, at least 25m of cabling in the multi-drop mode of operation, and at least 15m in a point-to-point configuration.

ADI’s MAC-PHY devices reduce the need for protocol translation and eliminate gateways to simplify E/E systems in next-gen automotive design. The solution provides an extensive array of features, such as PLCA with multi-ID support and the full array of OPEN Alliance TC10 and TC14 features.
