
A2B Audio Bus Solutions
A2BTM is a high bandwidth (50Mbps), low latency (50µs), bidirectional digital audio bus capable of transporting I2S/TDM/PDM data and SPI/I2C control information together with clock and power (up to 50W) over a single low-cost UTP cable. The system topology is comprised of a single main node with up to 16 daisy-chainable sub-nodes supporting distances up to 30m between nodes and 300m over the entire daisy chain.
The A2B audio bus can be used as its own network with embedded sub-networks, or as an endpoint transport bus used in combination with other, longer distance or higher bandwidth protocols. The clock and data are synchronous on all nodes in an A2B network, ensuring consistent low latency across the entire network regardless of node position.

From a wiring infrastructure perspective, A2B’s daisy-chain topology can reduce total wiring cost/weight by up to 75% when compared to traditional analog approaches. Additionally, its industry-leading bus power capability (up to 50W) eliminates the need for dedicated PWR/GND lines to remote nodes–while also removing costly local power supplies at remote nodes.
From a software perspective, the typical A2B implementation requires no software overhead after initial bus discovery. This eliminates the need for expensive microcontrollers and external memory that are required by competing digital bus protocols.
Finally, from a time to market standpoint, the A2B Audio Bus solution is supported by a broad array of low-cost evaluation boards and full featured debug/emulator systems designed to facilitate all stages of program development–from proof of concept and debug to final system test, verification, and validation.
