        The ADM706TARZ is powered from a local +5v switching regulator with the PFI pin connected via voltage divider to the +28v supply that powers the board (+VIN). @PowerUP there is some delay(engineering term) for the +5v to come up after the +28v is applied. So the voltage at the …

        Fil, Thanks for the reply, but I think you misread the question. At no point is the max rating of 6.3v exceeded, but only the spec of Vcc + 0.3v for about 40 mSec until the +5V supply comes up. It is already a voltage divider (12.1k/87 …

        It is not recommend that at any point of operation the Abs. Max. rating is exceeded. Reliability of part is not guaranteed. Can the resistor divider values be changed to lower the voltage across PFI pin but meeting the threshold requirement?
