    4. AN-213: Low-Cost, Two-Chip Voltage-Controlled Amplifier and Video Switch
      Application Note

      Charles Kitchin

Historically, it has been very difficult to build wide bandwidth, high quality, voltage-controlled amplifiers. Discrete designs have required a great deal of design effort while monolithic or hybrid integrated circuit approaches to VCA's have been expensive, or they have suffered from poor performance.

Hi Anna, I also simulated in Multisim. It makes a big difference when you connect pin 4 to ground. That was my problem, I simply forgot to connect the ground pin. Thank you, David

Hi, David. Overlooking the ground connection is a usual problem but I think this will be a great lesson that ground is as important as the other pins. Glad I helped you. Regards, Anna

Hi, Nandish. AD632 is pin-to-pin compatible with AD532 but has improved specifications. AD632AHZ and AD632SH are 10-pin Metal Header Package [TO-100] which are the exact package replacements of AD532JHZ. These two replacements has wider temperature range. Hope this helps. Regards, Anna
