Hi CAnandhi, Apologies for the delay. We initially didn't have the data for the thetaJC and I had to request for it to be simulated. thetaJC = 30degC/W Best regards, Rainier

Hi CAnandhi, The absolute maximum rating for power dissipation(Pd) is 450mW. I'm still looking for the junction to case thermal impedance (thetaJC), I'll keep you posted once I get any information. Best regards, Rainier

        1) It appears the AD421BRZ actually has a problem if the MOSI line is not brought LOW after every transmission. This means it can be used with standard SPI, since this is not the case. SPI leaves the MOSI bit HIGH if the last bit was “1”, and it leaves …

        Precision DACs
QuestionI am using AD421BR on our transmitters as 4/20mA output IC. As stated in the AD421 datasheet; The DN25D FET transistor from Supertex1 meets all requirements for the FET. Other suitable FETs include ND2020L and ND2410L, both from Siliconix. These FET devices are all obsolete. Can you suggest a …

I am using AD421BRZRL. My circuit is the one attached in the image. If I set LATCH low, the voltage at Rs is 0.88 V -> 4 mA. If LATCH is high, voltage at Rs = 1.98 V -> 9 mA. This behavior is independent of the values I set in …

… The theta-jc of RM-8 is 62.15 C/W. If you want to know more about power dissipation of a device this Technical Article can help you. You can post a forum on precision DACs community about AD421BRZ, someone should be able to help you there. Regards,Goz
