The increasing size and resolution of infotainment screens in vehicles create a challenge in supporting high-bandwidth data transmission over a single cable across the vehicle. Ensuring the application’s supportability required exploring uncharted territory to devise a viable solution, as traditional methods struggled to meet the high bandwidth and reliability demands. Analog Devices’ GMSL’s new Advanced eDP Deserializers address this challenge by offering features such as Digital Stream Compression (DSC), daisy-chaining, and DisplayPort. These deserializers enable the transmission of ultra-high-resolution video (8K x 2K at 60 fps) over a single link, simplifying system design and reducing the number of components and cable lengths.
