The World's First Single Chip Multiturn Position Sensor

    Dec 13 2022

The ADMT4000 is the world's first multiturn sensor operating without power or contact as demonstrated in an industrial rotary to linear actuator and Automotive Steer-by-Wire system (SbW). The sensor eliminates the need for a linear transducer normally needed for position feedback for closed loop control in rotary to linear actuators across a broad range of applications including X-Y tables for machining, pick and place equipment, medical equipment, lifts, and hoists.

In Automotive SbW the sensor will continuously track the multiturn rotations of the motor shaft without power (during key-off) and on Key-on the SbW system will immediately read back the correct steering angle information and eliminate the need to continuously power the steering ECU or add a remote absolute linear position senor to the steering rack.
