Product Details

The MAX25614D evaluation kit (EV kit) provides a proven design to evaluate the MAX25614C/MAX25614D automotive infrared LED drivers. The EV kit operates from a 5V to 18V DC supply voltage.

The EV kit is configured to deliver up to 5A to a string of LEDs. The total voltage of the string can vary from 0 to 32V. The high current driver uses fixed-frequency average current mode control. The LEDs may be connected by using the on-board IR LEDs or using onboard external connection pads. The anode of the LED string should be connected to the LED1+ terminal. The cathode of the LED string should be connected to LED-. The LED current, input current, and boost voltage are all controlled through the analog inputs VSET and ICTRL. The strobe signal can be applied to the PWM input to set the IR emitter pulse duration and frequency. A fault flag is provided on the FLTB test point, indicating fault conditions such as LED short to ground or LED open.
