Test Results for Energy and Voltage Parallel Pick-Up and Line-In-Use Detection
Abstract
This article discusses the relative performance of the parallel pickup (PPU) and line-in-use (LIU) features in 3 Teridian modem ICs. These features were tested in the 73M2901CE, a single-chip V.22bis modem, using voltage- and energy-detection techniques. With the proper code support, the 73M1903/73M1903C modem analog front-end (AFE) devices would have the same performance results. The tests verify operation under the extremes expected during normal use, making the results more qualitative than quantitative. Read full article.
