Evaluation Kits

MAX25613BEVKIT

Evaluation Kit for the MAX25613

Features and Benefits

  • Buck/Buck-Boost Maxim Proprietary Control Architecture
  • Analog Dimming Control

Product Details

The MAX25613B evaluation kit is a buck-boost, highcurrent IR LED driver for automotive driver monitoring systems (DMS). It can take an input voltage from 7V to 18V and can drive a string of LEDs with a maximum output voltage of 2V to 12V. The EV kit operates using a Maxim proprietary architecture to achieve high LED drive capability while minimizing the peak current on the battery harness. The EV kit senses output current at the high side of the LED string. High-side current sensing is required to protect against shorts from the output to the ground or battery input. The PWM input controls the LED on/off, and the ICTRL input provides additional analog dimming capability in the device. It also includes a fault flag that indicates LED short to battery, LED short to ground, LED open, and thermal shutdown. It has built-in spread-spectrum modulation for improved electromagnetic compatibility performance. The EV kit comes with the MAX25613BATP/VY+ installed, which is functionally and pin compatible with the MAX25613ATP/VY+, but with improved minimum on-time of the DL gate driver.

Applications

  • Driver Monitoring Systems
  • IR LED drivers

MAX25613EVKIT

Evaluation Kit for the MAX25613

Features and Benefits

  • Boost/Buck Maxim Proprietary Control Architecture
  • Analog Dimming Control
  • Digital LED On/Off Control

Product Details

The MAX25613 evaluation kit (EV kit) provides a proven design to evaluate the MAX25613 automotive infrared LED controller. The EV kit operates from a 7V to 18V DC supply voltage. The EV kit is configured to deliver up to 5A to one or two strings of LEDs. The total voltage of the string can vary from 5V to 20V. The anode of the LED string should be connected to the LED+ terminal. For two string applications, connect one string anode to LED1+ and connect the second string anode to LED2+. The cathode of the LED string(s) should be connected to LED- for both one string and two string applications.

Applications

  • Driver Monitoring Systems
  • IR LED drivers
