Hi Sofy, Are you referring to the Input capacitance related to the package? (input capacitance from an input pin to GND for example?) The ADM232A is available in a number of different packages, which package do you need data for? ADM232AANZ is a 16-Lead PDIP ADM232AARNZ is a 16 …

Hi Sofy, My comments on 30-Jan apply to the ADM232AARWZ. Typical input capacitance (input pin to GND) is 10 pF. We don't have any data on the power dissipation capacitance, but this can be determined by: Pdiss = Cload*Vcc2*fcycle Cload is typically the sum of input capacitances …

Hi Murali, That is correct, the ADM232A would need external protection, whereas the ADM202E does not need any external protection to meet Level 4 IEC-61000-4-2 protection. For adding IEC61000-4-2 protection to the ADM232A, something like the SM-15 series of TVS protection components would be …

Hello Neil, Thanks for your reply. Does that mean ADM232A needs additional external protection for meeting IEC61000-4-2 standard? Regards Murali

Thank you for your query, The ADM232A has 1500V protection to the Human Body Model (HBM) standard on all pins. The ADM202E is a suitable alternative with 15kV ESD protection on the RS-232 pins, to the system level IEC61000-4-2 standard. https://www.analog.com/en/products/adm202e …
